Weight Loss – What Exercises Should You Do?

There is no magic pill that you can take while laying around the house to successfully lose weight. Losing weight takes hard work and lots of exercise. There are several different kinds of exercise that can be done to achieve weight loss.

No matter which kind of exercise that you choose to do, the important thing is that you actually like to do and that you do it on a regular basis. Choose something that you can at least semi-enjoy so that you are more likely to stick with the workout.

Aerobic Workouts

Aerobic exercise should raise your heart rate, along with your breathing rate. It is also known as cardiovascular exercise. This is one of the most common exercises that people use to burn fat and calories. Aerobic workouts do just include the actual aerobics as some people may think. It actually encompasses any workout that is made to raise your heart rate and work you body such as running, cycling, dancing, and swimming. By increasing your heart rate, your body has to use more energy which means it is burning more calories per hour.

Strength Training Workouts

Strength training exercise involves using weights or resistance bands to build lean muscle. Muscle burns twice as much calories at a resting rate than fat does, so it is important that you build muscle on your body if you want to succeed at weight loss. There are many myths out there that strength training will automatically build large muscles and bulk you up. That is not true. If you are looking to lose weight and build lean muscles, start off with lighter weights but do more repetitions with them. Also, women do not produce enough testosterone in their bodies to bulk up like men do.

Circuit Training Workouts

If you really want to lose weight, you need to do regularly do circuit training workouts. Circuit training involves both cardio and strength training exercises all done at a fast pace to burn the most amount of calories possible.
